The Full Day program at PBS runs Monday-Friday from 12:30-6:30 PM.
It includes academic studies in Pedagogy: The Art of Teaching, Anatomy in 3D: Building the Muscle System in Clay, Dance Appreciation, History, and more. Dance Studies in Classical Ballet (Vaganova Approach), Pointe, Repertoire, Modern, Contemporary, Partnering, Improv and Acting.
The Half Day 1 Program runs Monday-Friday from 12:30-3:30 PM. It includes a portion of the academics and dance technique classes from the Full day program.
The Half Day 2 Program runs Monday-Thursday from 4-6:30 PM. It includes Dance Appreciation, Dance History and the dance technique classes of: Classical Ballet, Pointe, Modern and Contemporary.
Empower Ballet is part of our Pedagogy: Art of Teaching Curriculum for our Full Day Program, offering movement therapy to Special Needs Dancers. Weekly Empower Ballet Classes are held at PBS.
PBS has ranked in the top 12 at the YAGP Seattle competition in their first appearance last year! As a new school entering this prestigious competition, this was quite an HONOR!
Past Dancers of the PBS Staff have been given professional dance contracts and full scholarships to numerous professional dance companies and college dance programs internationally including: National Ballet of CUBA, Royal Winnepeg Ballet of Canada, NYU, SFU, Pacific Northwest Ballet and contemporary companies such as Polaris and BodyVox.
We offer 2 hour technique classes all summer long OPEN to all local area dancers. Anyone can come join in on Mondays, Tuesday and Thursday @ 9-11 AM through August 16.
Monthly Specialty Technique workshops are given by Artistic Director, Angelie Melzer, from January through May each year.
